PADS Program
Saint Gilbert Catholic School Families,
Saint Gilbert Catholic School believes in being of service to others. We partner with PADS of Lake County to help those in need in the community. PADS stands for Providing Advocacy, Dignity, and Shelter. Since 1972, PADS of Lake County has faithfully provided immediate, critical services to the neediest among us--individuals and families that are experiencing homelessness in Lake County.
The United Protestant Church in Grayslake was one of the locations that provided this service. They provided dinner and a place to sleep for the homeless on Thursday evenings from October through April. When the clients left the next morning, they were given a lunch to take with them. St. Gilbert School students have been generously providing these lunches throughout the years.
Our students will still be providing food donations. The classes will NOT be providing dinners this year or serving dinners. Each grade is assigned a different pre-packaged/non perishable food to bring in on their assigned week.

Kindergarten: Fruit cups, apple sauce
1st Grade: Granola bars
2nd Grade: Boxes of instant oatmeal packets
3rd Grade: Microwaveable 90-second rice packs
4th Grade: Mac and Cheese cups, Ramen cups
5th Grade: Tuna packets
6th Grade: Microwaveable soups in containers or pop-top cans
