Ways To Give

There are a number of ways to make a gift to Saint Gilbert Catholic School. Every gift, regardless of size, makes a difference. We appreciate your generosity and support!

Opportunities to support Saint Gilbert Catholic School

  • Corporate Gift Matching - Corporate gift matching is another way to support the mission of Saint Gilbert Catholic School. Did you know that many employers sponsor matching gift programs for their employees? These employers will match any charitable contribution made by their employee and some even continue to offer to match charitable contributions of retired employees. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to double, or even triple, your charitable contributions! To find out if your employer has a matching gift program, please consult your employer’s human resource or benefits department.

  • Annual Funds – Yearly financial gifts to Saint Gilbert Catholic School are greatly appreciated. Choose a special day of the year (birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc.) to send a donation to Saint Gilbert Catholic School each year.

  • Cash donations – Checks and monetary donations are always much appreciated. Checks should be made payable to Saint Gilbert Catholic School. These types of donations are also tax deductible.

  • In-kind donations – Office supplies, copy paper, and other miscellaneous items are always put to good use. If your company is “cleaning house” or relocating and needs to eliminate items, please contact us to see if we would be able to utilize the items.

  • Library – Honor a loved one’s special day by purchasing a book or making a donation toward a book for the school library.

  • VolunteeringThere are a number of ways to contribute to the school through volunteering. Volunteers may assist with the reading program, shelve books in the library, and recess duty just to name a few. Please be sure to review our Volunteer Information page to review compliance requirements prior to volunteering.

  • Bequests/Wills – Alumni, family, and friends who wish to assist us in continuing to offer a quality Catholic Education at Saint Gilbert Catholic School may choose to mention us in their will. The following are five common bequests:

    • Percentage Bequest – This type of bequest states that the school will receive a certain predetermined percentage of the donor’s estate.

    • Amount Bequest – This type of bequest specifies that the school will receive a designated sum. However, since a donor may not know exactly what will be left at the end of their lives many donors prefer to divide their estate by percentages.

    • Property Bequest – When making a specific bequest of property, the donor directs that one particular asset be transferred to the school, such as a certain piece of real estate, stock, or other possession.

    • Contingent Bequest – As the name implies, this bequest is “contingent” an event. Usually a donor makes a primary bequest for a relative with the contingency that if the relative is not living at the time of the donor's death, the bequest will be passed to the school.

    • Rest, Residue, and Remainder – Many donors are unaware of the extent of their estates and if they make amounts and property bequests to family and friends, the residue, rest and remainder may be left to a particular party, namely the school.

  • Memorials – The practice of asking for donations to a favorite charity (Saint Gilbert Catholic School) to commemorate the death of a loved one is a thoughtful and ongoing gift.
